Nova Scotia Chicken Breeder Directory

Below you’ll find a list of farms and chicken breeders in Nova Scotia who are real, established sellers – helping make sourcing chickens locally a little safer. Unfortunately, there are a lot of scammers out there who steal photos from legitimate breeders and try to sell birds that don’t actually exist to unsuspecting buyers.

A good rule of thumb is to never send money to someone you don’t know, and if someone claims they’ll ship live birds to you, it’s time to keep scrolling. That’s simply not something that’s done within Nova Scotia.

While I can confirm that the farms listed here do exist, and I’ve happily purchased birds from a few of them, I haven’t personally dealt with every farm on the list. Being included here doesn’t necessarily mean I’ve worked with or personally recommend them all – especially as the list grows and includes more breeders over time. To keep things fair, farms and breeders are listed alphabetically by county and then by name, with no priority given.

As with any purchase, I encourage you to do your own research when choosing a breeder to make sure they’re the right fit for you. Follow best practices when vetting any breeder or farm, even those listed here, and always quarantine new birds before introducing them to your existing flock.
