Flock Talk with Krystal
Your chicken questions. My undivided attention.
Sometimes you don’t need another article, Facebook post or Google search. You just want to sit down with someone who knows chickens and ask all the questions you’ve been collecting.
That’s what Flock Talk is for.
Maybe you’re getting ready for your first flock and aren’t quite sure where to start. Maybe you already have chickens but still have questions about your setup, feeding, behaviour or everyday care. Maybe you can’t make it to one of my Feathered Fundamentals workshops, or you simply prefer having someone to talk things through with one-on-one.
Bring the whole list. Seriously.
A Flock Talk is a one-on-one, 30-minute phone call where you set the agenda. Bring one big question, a whole list of little ones, or anything in between. For half an hour, you’ve got my full attention and we can talk through whatever you’d like to know about keeping chickens.
No typing paragraphs on your phone. Just a good, old-fashioned chat on the phone like folks used to do.
A quick note about chicken health
A Flock Talk can absolutely include general questions about keeping chickens healthy, routine health checks, biosecurity, first-aid preparedness, and recognizing when something isn’t normal. It is not an individual medical consultation or veterinary service, and Flock Talks aren’t intended for diagnosing or treating a sick or injured bird.
If you’re concerned about an individual chicken who may be sick or injured, veterinary care is always the best option when it’s available to you.
What Can We Talk About?
Flock Talks are meant for general chicken-keeping questions and personalized education. We can use your time to talk about things like:
• Getting ready for your first chickens.
• Coop and run setup.
• Feed, treats, grit and supplements.
• Daily and seasonal care.
• Chicken behavior and flock dynamics.
• Roosters.
• Introducing new birds.
• Biosecurity.
• Routine health and first-aid preparedness.
• Choosing supplies and equipment.
• Planning changes to your flock or setup.
• Things you’ve read or heard that you’re not quite sure about.
• All those little questions you’ve been saving up because Google keeps giving you twelve different answers.
You don’t need to have a problem to book a Flock Talk.
If what you really want is someone to look at your plans, answer your questions and help you feel a little more confident about what you’re doing, that’s exactly what this is for.
Flock Talk or Feathered Fundamentals Workshop?
Both are designed to help chicken keepers feel more prepared and confident, but they work a little differently.
My Feathered Fundamentals workshop follows a structured beginner curriculum and covers chicken keeping from the ground up. It’s a good fit if you want the full beginner education experience and would like me to teach you the things I think every new chicken keeper should know.
A Flock Talk is different. You decide what we talk about.
If you’ve already done a lot of reading, have specific questions, can’t attend a workshop, or simply prefer one-on-one conversation, Flock Talk gives you dedicated time to ask what’s important to you.
And if a Flock Talk leaves you wanting to learn more, you can always join me for a Feathered Fundamentals workshop later. Workshop attendees also receive ongoing messaging access to me for follow-up questions after the workshop.
How It Works
1. Tell me what you’d like to talk about
Complete the intake form and give me an idea of the questions or topics you’d like to cover. You do not need to write an essay. This simply helps me prepare before I call.
You can also include photos of your coop, run, supplies, or setup if they will help explain your questions.
2. Choose your time
After submitting the intake form, use the calendar below it to choose an available appointment.
Calls are available on weekdays at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. Atlantic Time.
3. Confirm your appointment
Your appointment is reserved once payment has been received.
Flock Talks are $29 CAD for 30 minutes.
Payment is by e-transfer. Your appointment is confirmed once payment has been received.
4. I’ll call you
At the scheduled time, I’ll call the number provided on your intake form. There is no presentation or predetermined lesson. Your questions get the full half hour.
*Sessions are scheduled for 30 minutes. If we’re in the middle of finishing up a thought and I have time available, I may be able to stay on a little longer at the end if my schedule allows.

Flock Talk Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
I know plans change and life happens. Here’s what you need to know if you need to cancel or reschedule your Flock Talk appointment.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel, please give me at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations made at least 24 hours before your appointment are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice are non-refundable.
Rescheduling
Need to move your appointment? No problem. With at least 24 hours notice, you can reschedule your Flock Talk appointment to another available time. If something comes up within 24 hours of your appointment, you can transfer your booking once to another available time within the next two weeks. After that, the original payment is considered used and a new booking will be required.
Missed Calls & No-Shows
I’ll call you at your scheduled appointment time. If you don’t answer, I’ll try once more about 5–10 minutes later. If I still can’t reach you, the appointment will be considered a no-show. No-shows are non-refundable and can’t be rescheduled. If you answer late, we can still talk, but the call will need to end at the originally scheduled time so I can keep the rest of my appointments on schedule.
If I Need to Cancel
If I ever need to cancel or reschedule your Flock Talk appointment, you’ll have the choice of moving your appointment to another available time or receiving a full refund.
And Because Life Happens…
These policies are here so we’re both clear about what to expect, not because I want to make a difficult day worse. If something genuinely unexpected happens, please get in touch. I’ll always do my best to be reasonable.
Thank you for understanding and respecting the time set aside for your Flock Talk appointment.
To My Feathered Fundamentals Family…
If you’ve attended a Feathered Fundamentals workshop, nothing here changes the ongoing support you already have. You’re always welcome to message me through our Facebook group with your follow-up questions at no charge.
Flock Talks are intended mainly for people who haven’t attended a workshop and would like some one-on-one time to ask their chicken questions.
Why I Do This
I genuinely enjoy helping people become more confident chicken keepers. Sometimes that’s through a workshop, sometimes it’s through the resources I create, and sometimes it’s simply by sitting down for a one-on-one conversation.
If that’s what you need, I’d love to talk chickens with you.
